He (Lucky Dog) is gone and my heart is broken... ***UPDATE***

The family seems really nice and I think that he will really like it with them. Anyway, we will be back to normal at the house now and our dogs will be happy that "the big stranger" is gone. Well, all but Cheyenne and Suka.

I did get him clipped as best as possible since he was having none of the clipping of the hindquarters and he had a both last night. I must say, he cleaned up pretty good.

I am trying not to just sob. Why oh why did I call the OES Rescue? He is a good boy and we could have made room for him and his awkward self. Darn if I am not just attached to that silly stray.

He told me that they were going to stop by DH's work so he could meet them and say Good-bye. Hopefully that will make up for the fact that DH didn't want the dog to go until tomorrow. Personally, I don't think he wanted him to go at all.

His new dad said he would send up pictures and let us know how he is doing and I thanked him. I just have to remember that he is going to be happier as the only dog.

On a branched off related note, I will never ever be able to be a foster parent. If I am broken hearted about a dog after 5 days, then a child will just shatter me to pieces if they had to go back. I must say, I have a new respect for foster parents. My hats off to you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They family lied to me. They didn't stop by DH's work like they said they would. So now I doubt we will even get a picture of him.
I should have stuck to my guns and called and told them to wait until Saturday. I feel like a told jerk now. DH is heartbroken and mad that they lied to me, and essentially him. I swear I will never work with a rescue again. She was really great but I don't trust these people to take care of him like he deserves.
I'm so sorry about the bad experience! I hope that they at least follow through with pictures- nothing is worse than feeling like you should have just kept the cute pooch & wondering how he is!
