The poll on PJ's blog got me to thinking

I have known 18 people on a fairly decent level that have been dealt the IF card.

  1. My two sisters have PCOS (like me)
  2. My cousin had a hard time keeping a pregnancy and had an adoption
  3. My mom and my grandmother have/had PCOS
  4. There are two women in our church who have finally just adopted through the foster system
  5. It took one of my fellow praise team members two years and fun testing to finally break the Unexplained IF barrier
  6. One woman in our church decided to live child-free
  7. One 17 year old at church has endo so bad she will never be able to conceive or sustain a preganancy
  8. And I have 8 wonderful girls I talk to regularly on-line who have also been given varying degrees of IF labels.

So here is my thought... If this was a type of cancer, wouldn't more people be un in arms?

One in eight women or 12.6% of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime. And 12.5% of couples suffer with infertility.

Just food for thought.

I didn't realize the numbers were so close. We just got new insurance and was blown away by what they pay for and what they don't. If I get into it I will get angry again grrrr.

I only know a couple of people in my immediate circle...but have met SOOOooo many online.

Hope you have a great holiday!

I know what you mean. I can me a drug addict or an alcoholic and they will cover that but heaven forbid I need some help getting pregnant. I don't understand.

I am all for cafeteria type coverage. Don't make males carry materinty because the whole groups does and if a person has no reason to need rehab (addiction type) don't make me cover that. Let me use that for IF treatments. I get made about it too.

In fact, my boss told me on Monday that I take it too personal. I could have slapped her.

Have a nice holiday yourself!
